Biographical note
Visiting Assistant Professor at the Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISPS) of the University of Lisbon since October 2019. Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) between September 2017 and July 2020.
Researcher at the Centre for Public Administration and Public Policies of the ISPS, PRAXIS – Centre of Philosophy, Politics and Culture of UBI, and the Political Observatory.
I hold a PhD in Political Science, with a thesis entitled Tradition, reason and change, a M.A. in Political Science, with a dissertation entitled On the Concept of Freedom in Friedrich A. Hayek, and a B.A. in International Relations, with a traineeship report on The place of Brazil in Portuguese Foreign Policy, from the ISPS.
Member of the Portuguese Political Science Association, the American Political Science Association, the International Studies Association, and the Association for Political Theory.
Participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. Department of State in 2012 and in the Study of the U.S. Institute for Scholars on U.S. Foreign Policy, also of the U.S. Department of State, in 2019, which took place at the University of Delaware.
Awarded a Santander Totta Luso-Brasilian scholarship for studying during a semester at the University of Brasília. Awarded a Merit Scholarship in 2007/2008. Awarded a First Prize of the Best Students Award of the Technical University of Lisbon 2011.
Former representative of the students in the School Council and former board member of the students’ union and the International Relations students’ union of the SSPS.
Former President of the Portuguese Atlantic Youth Association and the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association.
Between 2013 and 2017 I was the Manager of the Nigeria Portugal Friendship & Business Association.
Between 2009 and 2012 I was a Project Manager at the Blue Flag of Europe Association, where I assisted the national coordination of the Young Reporters for the Environment, Eco-Schools and EcoXXI programs.
